Read this first: a quote is not a policy.

Any price you see on this website is an estimate only. It is not an offer, it is not bound, and it is not guaranteed. Nothing is official until you complete an application, we shop your case to our carriers, a carrier underwrites and issues an offer, and you accept it and pay your first premium. Until then, you owe nothing and you are not covered.

01 About Us

  • Timeless Protection is an independent life insurance agency built around one standard: Educate. Advocate. Serve. We Protect Veterans is our specialized division dedicated to active-duty military, veterans, retirees, and their families. Backed by an A+ BBB rating, 300+ five-star Google reviews, tens of thousands of families served, and years of underwriting and private-market experience, our team has built its reputation by putting clients before commissions.

  • No. Timeless Protection and We Protect Veterans are independent life insurance agencies—not insurance companies. We help you compare options and choose the right carrier; the insurance company issues the policy and pays eligible claims. Our job is to protect your family—and protect you from bad ads, bad advice, and the wrong coverage.

  • No. We Protect Veterans specializes in serving veterans, active-duty military, retirees, and their families. Timeless Protection serves individuals and families nationwide. Same experienced team, same mission: Educate. Advocate. Serve.

  • Nothing. All it costs is a few minutes of your time to make sure your loved ones are protected the right way.

  • Our headquarters is in Connecticut, with licensed agents across the country serving families nationwide. You also have direct access to founder and owner Michael DeCecco and the Team Timeless staff—not a call center or random salesperson. We believe access, accountability, and real human support matter.

02 Our Credentials

  • Yes. Our agents are licensed life insurance professionals in the states where they do business. We work with multiple established insurance companies and follow state licensing and carrier requirements. You should always verify who you’re speaking with before sharing personal information or applying for coverage.

  • Nationally - Excluding New York.

  • Don’t take our word for it—verify us. You can check agent licensing through your state’s Department of Insurance, State Based Systems (SBS), and NIPR. You can also review our BBB history, public reviews, and verify the insurance company before applying. We want you to check us out before you trust us with your family.

  • Yes. We work with major A-rated life insurance carriers and compare multiple companies to find the right fit for your health, budget, and coverage needs. We care just as much about who holds your policy as we do about the policy itself.

03 Life Insurance Basics

  • Term life covers you for a set number of years (10, 20, 30). It's the most coverage for the least money, but it expires and builds no cash value. Best for income replacement, mortgages, and raising kids.

Whole life (a type of permanent insurance) lasts your entire life as long as it's paid, has a fixed premium, and builds cash value you can borrow against. It costs significantly more for the same death benefit. Best for lifelong needs, final expenses, and leaving a guaranteed legacy.

Neither is "better." The right one depends on what you're trying to protect and for how long. That's the conversation we have with you.

  • It's a smaller whole-life policy (often $5,000–$25,000) designed to cover funeral costs, medical bills, and small debts so your family isn't stuck with them. Underwriting is easier, which makes it a common fit for older applicants or those with health issues.

  • Everyone’s situation is different, and we refuse to mislead you with a generic number. The right amount of coverage depends on your family, income, debts, goals, budget, and existing benefits. The licensed team member you speak with will review your situation, explain the options, and help you determine what actually makes sense for you.

  • 99% of the time, no. Most life insurance today can be handled through simplified underwriting, which reviews your health history and MIB information without the traditional physical exam. We generally recommend speaking with our team first so we can identify the strongest available options before sending you through full medical underwriting. If an exam is truly the best route, it’s usually because our team believes your health profile is strong enough to justify it. We don’t send people into unnecessary underwriting just to see what happens.

  • Yes, your health can limit your options—but a decline from one company does not mean you’re out of options. Good health, fair health, or serious health issues: the real question is whether you can qualify for the coverage you actually want at a price that makes sense. Different companies view health conditions very differently, which is why working with experienced professionals is crucial. The wrong application can get you declined. The right team knows where to go first.

04 For Veterans & Military Families

  • Often, yes. SGLI ends shortly after you separate. VGLI lets you keep coverage without proving your health, which is great if you're uninsurable — but its premiums rise with age and can get expensive over time. If you're in reasonably good health, a private term policy is frequently cheaper for the same coverage, and you can lock the rate for 20–30 years. We'll compare your VGLI cost against private options side by side so you can see the real difference, not a sales pitch.

  • Yes. They're separate. Many veterans keep a base of VGLI and stack a private policy on top for additional protection. There's no conflict in carrying both.

  • A VA disability rating by itself does not set your life insurance rate — carriers price based on the underlying medical conditions, not the percentage. Some service-connected conditions are viewed favorably or neutrally; others affect pricing. The point: a rating is not an automatic denial, and we know which carriers are friendliest to veterans' health profiles.

  • No. We are a private, independent team of veteran and civilian life insurance professionals. We are not part of, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense, or any government agency. We serve veterans; we don't represent the government.

05 Quotes & How Our Website Works

  • Most important answer on this page

No. The number you see online is an estimate based only on the information you entered. It is not an offer, it is not locked in, and it is not a contract. Your real, final rate is set by the carrier's underwriting after you apply.

Coverage only becomes official when all of these happen, in order:

    • You complete a full application.

    • We shop your case to our carriers.

    • A carrier underwrites it and makes an offer.

    • You accept the offer and pay your first premium.

Until every step is done, you have no coverage and you owe nothing.

  • Because a quote engine doesn't know everything about you yet. Your final rate depends on underwriting — age, health history, tobacco use, build, prescriptions, driving record, and more. A quote estimates the best-case price for the profile you describe. Underwriting verifies it. Sometimes the rate matches the quote, sometimes it's higher, occasionally it's better. We never hide that from you.

  • One of our licensed agents (usually the owner Michael DeCecco) reviews your info, talks through your goals, and identifies the carriers most likely to give you the best outcome. If you decide to move forward, we help you complete an application. Then we shop it, manage underwriting on your behalf, and bring back real offers for you to approve. No surprise charges along the way.

  • Requesting a quote does not involve a hard credit pull and does not lower your credit score. During underwriting, carriers may review items like prescription history, the MIB, and motor vehicle records, and some use a soft, insurance-specific financial check — none of which is a hard inquiry on your credit.

  • When you submit your information, you're authorizing us to contact you — by phone, text, or email — about coverage, including via automated systems where permitted. Consent isn't a condition of purchase, message and data rates may apply, and you can opt out anytime by replying STOP or telling us to stop. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

06 Filling Out an Application

  • No. Completing an application starts the process — it does not bind you to anything. You are free to review the carrier's actual offer and decline it. You are not covered and not obligated until you accept an offer and pay the first premium.

  • A life insurance application typically asks for basic personal information, health history, medications, doctors, tobacco use, beneficiaries, finances, and existing coverage. If you trust our team and decide to move forward with protecting your family, you may also need your driver’s license or ID number, Social Security number, beneficiary information, and ACH/banking information to complete and issue the policy. No surprises—we explain what’s needed and why before you provide it.

  • Read carefully. Be truthful and complete. Our team will review and verify everything with you before submission. Hiding or misstating health information can put your policy—and your family’s payout—at risk. Tell us the truth, and we’ll find the carrier that fits your real situation.

  • Many no-exam cases are approved within minutes to 48 hours. Cases requiring records or an exam can take longer. We’re thorough—we exhaust the appropriate carrier options so you know we didn’t leave a better solution on the table. When we’re done, you’ll receive a summary showing what we reviewed, who declined and why, and why we ultimately recommended the coverage we did.

  • One decline isn't the end. We take what we learned and re-shop your case to carriers that view your situation more favorably, or pivot to a guaranteed-issue option. You're not charged for an application that doesn't result in coverage.

Rectangle 31014.png

07 Pricing, Payments & Claims

  • The main drivers: age, sex, health and medical history, tobacco/nicotine use, height and weight, family medical history, the type and amount of coverage, the term length, and sometimes lifestyle factors like driving record or risky hobbies. Younger and healthier almost always means cheaper — which is why waiting rarely pays off.

  • Your first premium is due when you accept the carrier's offer and put the policy in force — not when you request a quote or submit an application. Most carriers accept bank draft (ACH) or card, billed monthly or annually

  • It depends on the policy. Level term and whole life lock your premium for the guaranteed period — it won't rise on you. Some other products can change. We'll tell you plainly which kind you're buying and whether the price is guaranteed.

  • The beneficiary contacts the carrier (or us, and we'll walk them through it), submits a claim form and a certified death certificate, and the carrier pays the death benefit — usually within days to a few weeks once paperwork is complete. We help your loved ones through it; that's part of the deal.

  • Yes. Every policy comes with a "free look" period (commonly 10–30 days depending on your state) during which you can cancel for a full refund. After that you can cancel anytime; term coverage simply stops, and whole life may return any accumulated cash value per the contract.

08 Privacy & Your Data

  • We use it to give you quotes, shop your case to carriers, process your application, and stay in touch about your coverage. We share it with the carriers and the service providers needed to do that — and not for unrelated purposes. The full breakdown is in our Privacy Policy below.

  • We do not sell your personal information. See the Privacy Policy for exactly who we share data with and why.

  • We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data, and we limit access to people who need it to serve you. No system is 100% secure, but we treat your information — especially your SSN and health details — with the seriousness it deserves.
